One-Year-Old Boy Bites Cobra, Survives Incident in Bihar

Bettiah, Bihar – A startling incident has emerged from Bettiah, where a one-year-old child managed to bite a venomous cobra, leading to the snake's immediate death. This unusual event has left many astonished, as even the bravest individuals would find themselves sweating at the sight of such a dangerous snake.


The occurrence took place in Mohachhi Bankatwa village, located in the Majholia block of West Champaran district. Following the incident, the child lost consciousness and was rushed to the Majholia Primary Health Center for medical attention. After initial treatment, he was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah.


According to reports, the child, Govinda, was playing at home when a two-foot-long cobra slithered into the house. His grandmother, Mataishwari Devi, recounted that the child mistook the snake for a toy and grabbed it, subsequently biting it. The cobra died shortly after the bite, with reports indicating that the child even managed to sever the snake into two pieces.


Dr. Divakant Mishra, the deputy superintendent at GMCH, stated that the child showed no signs of poisoning. Currently, he is undergoing treatment, and his condition is reported to be stable. The family was understandably shaken by the incident, while the community expressed disbelief over the child's extraordinary act.
