The bond between husband and wife is often regarded as sacred. However, a recent incident in Gorakhpur has raised eyebrows. A newlywed bride, who was welcomed with joy, turned out to be cunning and heartless. Just days after the wedding, she shocked everyone by fleeing with valuables worth 15 lakhs, including cash and jewelry, along with a friend and another young man.
This unexpected betrayal was captured on the CCTV cameras installed in the house. Once the family learned of the incident, they immediately contacted the police by dialing 112. Subsequently, they filed a complaint at the Rajghat police station, seeking legal action.
Reports indicate that Manish Kushwaha from Turkmanpur got married on April 27, 2021, to a girl from Jafra Bazaar in Tiwari Pur. Following COVID-19 protocols, Manish arrived at the marriage venue with a grand procession. The wedding rituals were conducted according to Hindu customs, including the 'Saat Phere' (seven rounds) on April 29. After the wedding, the bride returned to her parental home for a brief period before coming back to her in-laws just four days prior to her disappearance.
On the night of May 27, around midnight, she stealthily left with her accomplices, taking with her cash, jewelry, clothes, and other belongings. Manish reported that when he woke up in the morning, his wife was missing. Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, the entire incident was revealed. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be around 15 lakhs. The Rajghat police are currently investigating the case, highlighting the breach of trust that has occurred in this situation.
