A family of bears visits the Chandi Devi Temple daily to pay their respects. Located in the Mahasamund district, this temple is a site of devotion not only for people but also for animals. Every day, thousands gather to witness the bears' unique display of reverence for the deity.
According to reports, this temple is approximately 150 years old. Inside, there is a beautiful natural idol of Goddess Chandi. Visitors come not only to seek blessings but also to observe the bears in their ritualistic behavior.
People often wait for hours for the bears to arrive at the temple. The temple priest mentions that the bear family typically shows up during the evening aarti (prayer ceremony). Remarkably, these bears participate in the aarti and, after receiving the prasad (offering), return to the forest without causing any harm to anyone.
