Former US President Donald Trump has once again strongly attacked Barack Obama’s Iran policy. In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused the Obama government of giving economic power to Iran. He claimed that during Obama’s tenure, hundreds of billions of dollars were freed for Iran and $1.7 billion in cash was airlifted to Tehran.
According to Trump, Iran has been fooling America for the last 47 years. American soldiers were killed by roadside bombs, and more recently 42,000 innocent protesters were killed. Obama sidelined allies like Israel and supported Iran. Huge amounts of cash were withdrawn from banks in Washington, Virginia and Maryland and sent by plane in suitcases, which stunned Iranian leaders.
Trump described Obama as weak and stupid, although he described Biden as worse. Iran will no longer be able to laugh because America is becoming great again. The statement came after Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said that the talks are not surrender, but the defense of interests.
This attack by Trump intensifies the debate on Iran deal in American politics. This conflict between the legacy of the nuclear deal and the current negotiations could have implications for global security.
