Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has appealed to residents across the state to register for the ‘Chief Minister Health Scheme’ card, stating that the initiative is aimed at expanding access to affordable healthcare services for families in Punjab.
Sharing details about the scheme, the Chief Minister said eligible families can receive free medical treatment coverage of up to ₹10 lakh annually under the programme. He urged people to ensure that every household obtains the health scheme card so that they can benefit from the financial assistance available for medical treatment and hospital care.
The scheme is part of the Punjab government’s broader welfare and public healthcare initiatives intended to reduce the financial burden of medical expenses on families. Officials said the programme aims to strengthen healthcare accessibility, particularly for economically vulnerable households requiring treatment for serious illnesses and medical emergencies.
According to the information shared by the Chief Minister, the scheme seeks to provide wider social security coverage through cashless or subsidised treatment facilities linked to empanelled healthcare institutions. Authorities are also expected to continue awareness campaigns and enrolment drives to increase participation across urban and rural areas.
The Punjab government has recently been promoting multiple welfare-focused schemes related to healthcare, nutrition, electricity and social support. The Chief Minister’s appeal comes amid ongoing efforts by the administration to expand the reach of state-backed healthcare coverage and encourage residents to register for available public benefit programmes.
