Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the film Krishnavatarm will be exempted from entertainment tax in the state. The announcement was made after a special screening of the film held at the Lok Bhavan Auditorium in Lucknow, attended by Governor Anandiben Patel, both Deputy Chief Ministers, cabinet ministers, legislators, and several public representatives.

The screening took place shortly after the state cabinet expansion, with many newly inducted ministers also present at the event. The auditorium witnessed a large turnout, and devotional chants associated with Lord Krishna echoed through the venue during the programme.

Speaking after the screening, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the film attempts to present the story of Lord Krishna while highlighting themes linked to Indian traditions, mythology, and cultural heritage. He stated that such films can help younger audiences engage with historical and cultural narratives rooted in the country’s traditions.

The Chief Minister also announced that the state’s Information Department would assist in arranging screenings of the film across districts so that students and young viewers could watch it. According to officials present at the event, the initiative is intended to encourage discussions around Indian cultural and religious literature through cinema.

During the programme, the cast and crew of the film were felicitated on stage. Lead actress Sanskriti, who plays a central role in the film, was among those honored during the event. The Chief Minister also acknowledged the contributions of the film’s producers, director, and technical team.

Governor Anandiben Patel, while addressing the audience, said films based on Indian traditions and mythology continue to attract audiences and contribute to cultural storytelling in mainstream cinema. She also congratulated the newly inducted ministers who attended the programme alongside senior members of the state government.

Directed by Hardik Gajjar, Krishnavatarm depicts episodes from the life of Lord Krishna and explores relationships involving Radha, Rukmini, and Satyabhama. The film has been released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

The movie features Siddharth Gupta, Sanskriti, Sushmita Bhatt, and Nivasini Krishnan in prominent roles. Veteran actors Jackie Shroff and Ashutosh Rana also appear in the film.
