The Great Indian Kapil Show recently welcomed Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia amid their India’s Got Latent controversy. What caught many eyeballs was Sunil Pal ’s special entry in the episode. The veteran comedian and Samay Raina have constantly been in an online spat with one another and hence fans were quite excited to see them share the screen together. Sunil has now called out Navjot Singh Sidhu for allegedly being biased towards Samay Raina.
Sunil claimed that he felt he was treated unfairly on the show and that Navjot Singh Sidhu was biased towards Samay. Speaking to content creator Suraj Kumar, he alleged that he was not given the chance to perform the stand-up set he had prepared. He also claimed that both the audience’s reactions and Navjot Singh Sidhu’s responses seemed biased.
He said, “Eventually it’s a Netflix show, and they thought their stars (Samay and Ranveer) are going through a downfall, so Netflix wanted to highlight them. Now, how could they do that? By calling them on Kapil Sharma ’s show to further put them in the limelight. They called me to boost TRPs. I was just standing there and didn’t say anything.”
He later revealed the reason he joined the show amid his feud with Samay Raina. The comedian said, “It was Kapil Sharma’s show, not Samay or Ranveer’s show. Even Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan go there, so what is so shocking if I went there? I was invited to Kapil Sharma’s show.”
He later added, “I had no idea if Samay would be there. I was told that the episode would have stand-up comedians, and they might be there too. I was also told to come and do a stand-up segment there, not even an interview. I had even prepared a 15-minute-long sketch, and the director, Anukul, had even finalised it. After I reached there, I got to know that these two were also there. I didn’t get a chance to perform my stand-up act. They even cut out the few jokes I cracked.”
While talking about Sidhu’s reaction to Samay Raina’s performance, Sunil said, “Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been listening to comedians for 20 years, reacted to a small joke from Samay, saying, ‘Too good, you are the next Kapil.’ Even Archana was not laughing at that joke; she is someone who, if paid, will also laugh at the wind. But if she didn’t laugh, then I felt there was some planning.”
