Apara Ekadashi 2026: Ekadashi date is considered very sacred and special. This date has been dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the protector of the world. Ekadashi fast is observed every month on the Ekadashi date of Krishna and Shukla Paksha. Also, special worship of Lord Vishnu is done on this day. Every Ekadashi fast has its own significance. Ekadashi falling in the month of Jyeshtha is called Apara Ekadashi. This Ekadashi is mentioned in detail in Brahmavaivarta Purana, Bhavishya Purana and Mahabharata.
There is a religious belief that by fasting on this day and worshiping Lord Vishnu, one gets freedom from many types of sins. Also one gets virtue. This Ekadashi is said to give happiness, prosperity and salvation. However, this year there is doubt in the minds of people regarding the date of Apara Ekadashi whether this fast will be observed on 12th May or 13th. When is Apara Ekadashi? (When is Apara Ekadashi 2026)
According to Drik Panchang, Ekadashi date of Krishna of Jyeshtha month is starting on 12th May i.e. tomorrow at 02:52 pm. This date will end on May 13 at 01:29 pm. In such a situation, keeping in view the Udayatithi, Apara Ekadashi fast will be observed on 13th May.

Auspicious time of Apara Ekadashi (Apara Ekadashi 2026 Subh Muhurat)
- On the day of Apara Ekadashi, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:08 AM to 04:50 AM.
- Vijay Muhurta will be from 02:33 pm to 03:27 pm.
- Twilight time will be from 07:02 pm to 07:23 pm.
- Nishita Muhurta will be from 11:56 pm to 12:38 pm.
Apara Ekadashi Puja Vidhi
- On the day of Apara Ekadashi, take bath in the morning and wear clean clothes.
- Then light a lamp in front of the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu in the house or temple.
- Offer yellow flowers, Tulsi leaves, Panchamrit and yellow bhog.
- Chant the mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya.
- Listen to the fast story and perform aarti.
- Next day, break the fast on Dwadashi and donate to the needy.
