On Monday, Darshana Jardosh, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, expressing optimism that the BJP-led government in Assam will secure a third consecutive term. She noted that the higher-than-expected voter turnout reflects strong public support for development and good governance. Speaking to reporters, Jardosh highlighted the widespread appreciation for Modi's leadership and stated that the Assam government, under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, is poised to achieve a 'hat-trick' in the upcoming elections. She emphasized that the increased voter turnout sends a clear message that the populace is ready for progress. With the slogan 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,' she assured that the government will meet the expectations of the people and deliver effective governance.
Arunachal Pradesh Deputy CM Commends Assam's Development
Chowna Mein, the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, congratulated Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP President Dilip Saikia, and party workers for the remarkable development witnessed in the neighboring state over the past five years. He stated, 'First and foremost, I want to congratulate Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. New Government's Focus on Implementation of Party Manifesto
Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sarma, designated as the Chief Minister of Assam, announced on Sunday that the primary objective of the new government, following the oath-taking ceremony on May 12, will be the implementation of the BJP's manifesto. According to an official notification from the Assam government's parliamentary affairs department, the Governor has appointed Sarma as Chief Minister under Article 164(1) of the Constitution of India. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for 11:40 AM at the Veterinary College ground in Khanapara, Guwahati.
Earlier in the day, Sarma informed reporters that the new government would commence work immediately upon taking office and would hold its first cabinet meeting right after the oath-taking ceremony. He mentioned, 'After the oath-taking, we will convene our first cabinet meeting. Our goal will be to implement our manifesto.' Sarma also expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would arrive in Guwahati that evening to attend the ceremony, which will be graced by several dignitaries and party workers.
