Brits are all set to experience a 23C heat surge in weeks as the weather maps have turned red indicating the chances of hot spell in May. According to the weather maps by WXCharts and Netweather.tv, sweltering conditions will hit several parts of the country on May 21 as the temperature levels soar to 23C, impacting at least 14 counties.
The weather charts suggest that the sultry conditions will begin to hit Britain on the evening on May 20 as the temperature across England soar around 20C. However, by the evening of May 21, areas around London and Surrey will bake at 23C, the maps from Netweather.tv have suggested.
According to the maps, most of the areas in England and Midlands will see the highs of 20C during the evening.
The Met Office's long-range forecast between May 15 and 24 reads: "Changeable and at times rather unsettled conditions look to dominate through the middle part of May, with low pressure often close by.
"This means periods of rain or showers, some of which could be heavy, for many places, though some drier interludes are also expected.
"For the most part, temperatures are likely to be close to or perhaps a little below normal, with winds often blowing from a northwesterly quadrant. By the end of this period, pressure may increase towards the southwest, which could bring more in the way of dry weather here."
