Women in Delhi may soon receive major financial support from the Government of Delhi under a proposed monthly assistance scheme expected to launch later this year.
According to reports, the Delhi government is preparing to begin registrations from June 2026 for a scheme that could provide ₹2,500 every month directly into eligible women’s bank accounts.
The initiative, earlier discussed as the “Mahila Samriddhi Yojana,” is now reportedly being considered under the new name:
- Delhi Laxmi Yojana
The scheme was one of the major promises made during the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections and is now moving closer to implementation.
₹2,500 Will Be Transferred Directly to Bank AccountsUnder the proposed scheme:
- Eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month
- Money will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
- Payments will go directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts

in the 2026–27 budget for the scheme.
