Banks are going to remain closed on these dates
The second week of the month of May has started. In such a situation, if you have to go to the branch and deposit a cheque, make a draft or settle any important paperwork related to the loan, then definitely understand the mathematics of holidays before leaving home. When they reach the bank without information, customers often have to face closed doors, due to which a lot of time as well as energy is wasted. Bank holidays have a direct impact on the everyday economic activities of the common man. Therefore, it becomes very important to take a look at the list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). It is a matter of relief that there will be enough time to complete the work this week.
What is the banking schedule for the next seven days?
If you are thinking of handling banking work between May 11 and May 17, then there is good news for you. In this entire week, work in banks will be halted only for one day. Actually, no national or regional festival is falling this week. Apart from this, May 16 is the third Saturday of the month. According to the rules of the Reserve Bank, all banks work fully on the first, third and fifth Saturdays. This simply means that all the branches of the country's largest government bank, from SBI to HDFC, ICICI to Axis Bank, will remain open normally till Saturday. Customers will find the branches locked only on May 17 as it is a Sunday as this day is a weekly holiday across the country.
When will the locks remain hanging in the remaining days of May?
Even though you are getting a lot of days to go to the bank this week, some holidays are waiting for you till the end of the month. After May 17, there are some important dates recorded in the banking calendar on which work will remain closed. May 23 is the fourth Saturday of the month, due to which bank branches across India will remain closed. The next day, on 24th May, there will be a weekly holiday of Sunday. At the same time, the festival of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) will be celebrated on May 27 (Wednesday), on the occasion of which there will be a holiday for bank employees in most of the states of the country. At the end of the month, 31st May will also not be open due to it falling on Sunday. The RBI guidelines are very clear that every Sunday along with the second and fourth Saturday of every month is a mandatory holiday.
How to complete your important work when the branch is closed
Even though bank branches remain closed on holidays, it does not mean that your financial transactions will stop. In today's digital era, services are available to customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you want to send money to someone immediately, you can use net banking or mobile banking app sitting at home. Through this, facilities like NEFT, RTGS or IMPS work without any interruption. UPI services are most effective for small payments. You can easily make payment at any time through apps like Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm. Apart from this, if you suddenly need cash, you can feel free to use your nearest ATM to withdraw cash.
