what happened
According to the information, on the night of May 5, Pragya Singh was returning from Dehradun to Ghaziabad after completing Kedarnath Yatra with her husband Manish. Both were traveling in Nanda Devi Express. Manish told that there was a normal conversation between the two till they crossed Haridwar, after which they slept. According to Manish, when the train reached Muzaffarnagar station, he opened his eyes and saw that Pragya was not on her seat. Initially they thought that she might have gone to the washroom, but when she did not return for a long time, they started searching in the entire train.
Phone switched off and Pragya nowhere to be found in the train
They searched both the washrooms and nearby compartments, but there was no trace of Pragya. His mobile phone was also found switched off. When the train stopped at the station, a search was conducted there also, but no information was found. After this, information was given to the Railway Police and the case was later sent to Roorkee police station, where a missing person was registered.
The biggest challenge faced by the police during the investigation was the CCTV cameras of the railway stations. Manish alleged that the cameras at Roorkee and Muzaffarnagar stations were not working, making it difficult to ascertain whether Pragya had deboarded the train or not.
The husband feared an accident or incident.
The husband had sought help from the police fearing some accident or criminal incident in the matter. After which the police conducted a search operation for several kilometers in the railway track and surrounding areas, but no clue was found. Police also searched Pragya's call detail records, messages and WhatsApp chats, but no suspicious activity was revealed.
