New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) star Suryansh Shedge went berserk as he took Mitchell Starc to the cleaners in his side’s clash against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Monday, May 11. Shedge went all guns blazing from the word go and smashed 16 runs off the first four balls he faced from Starc in the game.

The young Mumbai all-rounder arrived in the middle for the Punjab Kings at no.7 in the 19th over after Starc dismissed Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh on back-to-back deliveries. Shedge nonchalantly hit a six off the hat-trick ball to deny Strac three consecutive wickets and get off the mark in style. The PBKS all-rounder then smashed a low full toss from the Aussie pacer for a boundary.

Starc nailed a yorker to bowl a dot ball before Shedge smashed him for a six on the final ball of the over to make it 6, 4, 0, 6 on the four deliveries he faced against the Delhi Capitals pacer. Shedge smashed 16 runs off the 4 deliveries to ensure Punjab Kings made the most of the over despite losing two wickets on the first two balls.

Shedge’s second six against Starc was a huge one as the ball went out of the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The PBKS all-rounder played a fiery cameo of 8-ball 21 to help his team cross the 200-run mark comfortably in the end. His 21-run knock was laced with two sixes and as many fours. Thanks to his onslaught, Starc finished with poor figures of 2/57 off his 4 overs, his most expensive figures in the IPL.

Punjab Kings rode on blistering half-centuries from opener Priyansh Arya and skipper Shreyas Iyer and a finishing cameo from Shedge to post a strong total of 210/5 on the board against Delhi Capitals at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Priyansh got the hosts off to a solid start before Shreyas combined with Cooper Connolly (38) to continue the momentum in the middle overs.

As PBKS appeared to have slowed down towards the end of their innings, Shedge provided much-needed impetus with his unbeaten 21 off 8 balls to power them to 210 runs in 20 overs. PBKS will be hoping to defend the total successfully to end their three-match losing streak and reclaim the top spot on the IPL 2026 points table.
