'Karuppu' advance booking update: Suriya and Trisha Krishnan film crosses Rs 1 Cr; All-India day 1 pre-sales reach Rs 1.30 Cr

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan are gearing up for the release of ' Karuppu ,' one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the month. The action drama is scheduled to hit theatres on May 14.

On a positive note, advance bookings in Tamil Nadu for RJ Balaji 's directorial have shown encouraging momentum.

According to box office tracker Jerin Georgekutty, the film crossed Rs 1 crore in Tamil Nadu advance bookings within 20 hours and 28 minutes.

Malayalam actors in 'Karuppu' add to the excitement'Karuppu' has also generated considerable excitement among Malayali audiences. The film features several well-known Malayalam actors in important roles.

The supporting cast includes RJ Balaji, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu.


During the film’s audio launch, Suriya spoke warmly about Indrans and his remarkable journey in cinema.

As reported by Reporter Live, Suriya said, “I received a National Award, and he also received a National Award. I have been amazed watching his performances. For a long time, he was subjected to body shaming. If you search ‘Indrans movie acting’ on YouTube, you will find different characters from his films. He started as a costume designer, then took up small roles, and now he has become a National Award-winning hero. He studied only up to the 4th standard. Later, he went back and even wrote his 7th standard exam. Dreams do not have an expiry date.”


The screenplay for 'Karuppu' has been co-written by RJ Balaji along with Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, T. S. Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind Kumar.
