Bhopal/Bhind, May 12: A devastating accident occurred on Tuesday in Dardaua village, located in the Bhind district, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and leaving two others with severe injuries. The incident involved a pickup truck that was transporting livestock, which crashed into a tree.
Authorities reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle during the early hours, leading to the tragic event.
Local police indicated that the victims were en route to Dardaua village with a buffalo when the truck unexpectedly veered off the road and collided with a tree, ultimately overturning.
The force of the impact was so intense that three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as Preetam Manjhi, aged 50, and his son Sunil Manji, both from Chholi village in Gwalior. The third victim, Upendra Rana, hailed from Lakhnauti village, also in Gwalior district.
Two other passengers, Ramrup Baghel from Airoli village and Manvendra Thakur, survived the crash but suffered critical injuries.
Emergency responders from the Mehgaon police station arrived promptly to recover the deceased and assist the injured.
The injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for urgent care. However, after initial treatment, medical staff deemed their conditions serious and referred them to a specialized facility in Gwalior for further treatment.
The local police have initiated an investigation into the factors that led to the driver losing control of the pickup truck.
Initial findings suggest that the truck's load, combined with the high-speed impact with the tree, caused it to overturn, resulting in the fatalities. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsies before being returned to their families in Gwalior.
