Chikkamagaluru: A shocking incident highlighting the risky behaviour of some bikers was reported near Billuru close to Goudalli in Mudigere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.
According to local residents, heavy rain caused a short circuit in an electric pole, leading to a major fire. Despite warnings from people nearby about the danger, a few bike riders continued to ride close to the burning pole.
At the exact moment the bikers passed the area, the electric pole exploded with a loud sound. The incident was captured on a mobile phone by another traveller present at the spot.
Locals said a major tragedy could have occurred if the electric wire had fallen on the bikers. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
The incident has created concern among the public. People have been advised to avoid taking risks near damaged electrical poles and wires during the rainy season.
