The German influencer LizLaz has yet another statement to make, following her viral rise to fame after an interaction with Virat Kohli on her Instagram. LizLaz revealed that some journalists and media houses contacted her, soon after the Indian cricketer allegedly 'liked and unliked' one of her Instagram pictures.

The incident quickly escalated on social media as several memes and discussions took place all over the internet. Numerous fans even drew parallels between the incident and Kohli's previous Instagram controversy with actress Avneet Kaur. And as the discussion grew, LizLaz, unexpectedly found herself at the centre of attention.

The situation further led to LizLaz stating she was taken aback and hadn't expected such an event to snowball into such a huge social media talking point. The German model also revealed that she faced discomfort after some people allegedly pushed her to make negative comments against the Indian cricketer.

LizLaz went on to claim that some media houses approached her and offered her monetary assistance, post which she would be expected to make statements against the Indian cricketer.

While speaking to FilmyMantra, LizLaz claimed:

"I would get so many calls from different magazines. Some people even pushed to say things you don’t want to say. Some journalists even offered me money to throw shade at him (Virat Kohli) and make allegations he never made. But why would I do that? I said it myself that he’s my favourite cricketer. So why would I throw shade at him for money? I'm not that kind of person..."

Her comments drew significant attention from her fans. LizLaz further went on to state that she had no intention to say anything negative against the Indian cricketer and that she respects him as a cricketer.

The topic of AI pictures of herself and Virat Kohli that surfaced online following the controversy also came up and LizLaz shared her thoughts stating theeditedpictures amused her, but she felt the issue likely wasn't very comfortable for Virat Kohli.

"For me, it's funny. For him, it is not nice. I don't think it was his intention, and he did not do anything inappropriate."

The controversy had drawn a parallel with Kohli's 2025 Instagram interaction with Avneet Kaur. Then, the Indian captain had liked photographs posted by a fan-made page dedicated to the actress and then later unliked the interaction.

At that time, Kohli stated on his Instagram Story:

"I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding."
