Ahmedabad. With the help of half-centuries from Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar, Gujarat Titans scored 168 runs for five wickets in the IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. Sudarshan scored 61 runs in 44 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. Whereas Sundar played an inning of 50 runs in 33 balls with seven fours and one six.
For Sunrisers, Prafulla Hinge took two wickets for 17 runs in three overs while captain Pat Cummins took one wicket for 20 runs in four overs. Sunrisers’ fast bowlers kept Gujarat’s batsmen under pressure. This team was out for 100 runs on this pitch against Mumbai Indians. Sai Sudarshan benefited from his composure and made a 60-run partnership with Sundar for the fourth wicket.
Hinge took two wickets in the powerplay and after six overs, Gujarat team could score only 34 runs for two wickets, which is its lowest score this season. Gujarat captain Shubman Gill (five) was lucky when Nitish Kumar Reddy could not take his return catch in the second over. But in the next over, he was caught by Heinrich Klaasen at mid-on off the bowling of Hinge. Hinge also dismissed the dangerous Jos Buttler (seven) cheaply, whose catch was caught by Ishan Kishan behind the wicket.
Nishant Sindhu could not convert a good start into a big innings. He hit a six off Reddy and hit two fours off Hinge. He was out after scoring 22 runs in 14 balls. The first six of Gujarat’s innings was hit after the powerplay. Sudarshan and Sundar performed commendably under pressure. Saqib Hussain sent both the batsmen to the pavilion.
