It is written on this saree, ‘Grass flowers fall, lotus blooms’. ‘Jai Sriram’ is written across the hem of the saree. There is also a lotus symbol on the saree. The price is also affordable. The price of this saree has been kept at 230 taka for public interest. But this is not the first saree with political messages, he has made it before. Bijan Biswas responded to the market by creating sarees with ‘Paltansa, Chai BJP Sarkar’, ‘Jai Shriram’, or Padma symbols. The artist claims that this saree has already reached different parts of the state beyond Nadia. According to him, just as common people see this saree as a symbol of political passion, many also consider it a language of protest.

In Bijanbabu’s words, “Art is my language of protest. People have lost their jobs, their families are broken. So I am expressing my thoughts through the saree.” He also said that after BJP’s victory, his hope is that ‘Golden Bengal’ will develop and the textile industry of Bengal will be recognized in the world. He is also hopeful that this tradition of Bengal will go further if the weavers get fair wages and government support.
