Mangaluru: The Mulki police have arrested a female student and seized approximately 1 kg 42 grams of Hydroponic Weed valued at 35 lakh.
The accused, Suhana (21), was arrested on Tuesday, May 12, while transporting the Hydroponic Weed on the Mulki Railway Station road. The arrested individual is a resident of Hulidevara Bana in Sagara taluk, Shivamogga, and was a final-year BCA student at a college in Kundapura. Along with the contraband, the police seized her mobile phone and other items used in the crime.
She reportedly intended to source the narcotic from Chennai and sell it to make money. A case has been registered against the accused at the Mulki Police Station. The operation was conducted by the Panambur ACP team and the Mulki station personnel.
The accused also has prior cases registered against her under the NDPS Act at the Kavoor Police Station and by the Bangalore International Airport Customs.
