How To Complete The Alan Wake Event In Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia’s Alan Wake crossover event brings a darker and more mysterious style to the ghost hunting game. Instead of only identifying ghosts, players now have to explore altered locations, interact with strange objects, uncover hidden messages, and complete unique puzzle mechanics inspired by the Alan Wake universe. The event is available for a limited time and includes several exclusive cosmetic rewards that can only be unlocked during the collaboration.

The event completely changes the feeling of certain maps. Familiar places now contain shadow creatures, glowing messages, collectible dolls, and special light based mechanics. Players who jump into the event without preparation can easily feel confused during their first investigation, especially because the game explains very little about the new mechanics.

Fortunately, once you understand the core objectives, the event becomes much easier to complete.

Main Objectives You Need to Finish

There are four major tasks connected to the Alan Wake event. Completing all of them is necessary if you want every reward available during the crossover.

The main objectives are:

  • Earn community points
  • Earn personal points
  • Reveal Words of Power
  • Find dolls and solve doll puzzles

Each objective connects to the others. As you progress through investigations, you naturally gain points while solving puzzles and uncovering hidden secrets around the affected maps.

How to Earn Event Points Quickly

The fastest way to earn points is by interacting with the shadow figures scattered around event locations. Before starting an investigation, grab the special Angel Lamp from the truck. This item is extremely important because it allows you to remove the dark shadow entities found across the maps.

When you discover one of these figures, shine the Angel Lamp directly at it. After a short moment, the shadow will disappear and you will receive progress toward the event objectives. Many players ignore these enemies during early matches and accidentally slow down their progression.

It is also worth exploring the map carefully instead of rushing ghost evidence. The crossover event rewards players who investigate every room thoroughly.

How to Reveal Words of Power

Another major mechanic in the event involves glowing hidden messages called Words of Power. These messages usually appear near walls, objects, or strange markings hidden throughout the map.

To reveal them, players need to use ultraviolet light and carefully search nearby surfaces. Certain glowing trails and symbols point you toward the correct location. Once you discover the message, interact with it to gain additional event progress.

These sections are heavily inspired by Alan Wake’s supernatural storytelling style, so they often feel more like mystery puzzles than standard Phasmophobia objectives.

Some messages are easy to miss because they blend into the environment. Slowing down and checking corners carefully makes a huge difference.

Finding Dolls and Solving Puzzles

The doll puzzles are easily the hardest part of the entire crossover event. Small collectible dolls are hidden around the event maps, often placed on shelves, tables, near campfires, or inside storage rooms. They can be surprisingly difficult to spot during tense investigations.

After collecting dolls, you eventually unlock puzzle sequences connected to them. Each completed puzzle unlocks another one, with the difficulty increasing every time. The final puzzle is especially challenging and requires careful observation of clues and doll placement patterns.

Players who complete every doll puzzle receive exclusive cosmetic rewards inspired by Alan Wake characters, including special outfits connected to Saga Anderson.

If you are struggling to locate dolls, search slowly and communicate with teammates constantly. Many players walk directly past them because of how small they are.
