Bihar Police Recruitment 2026: The Bihar Police Headquarters has taken a significant step to strengthen the security infrastructure within the state. A total of 15,821 'Special Auxiliary Police' (SAP) personnel will be recruited into the police force. The recruitment of these SAP personnel will be conducted on a contractual basis. A distinctive feature of this recruitment drive is that, traditionally, only ex-servicemen are appointed; however, for the first time, retired personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will also be included.

The Police Headquarters has designated the Army Employment Welfare Organization at Danapur Cantonment as the nodal agency responsible for overseeing this entire recruitment process. Recruitment rallies, organized on a division-wise basis, will be held from June 1st to June 6th. These rallies will take place daily, running from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

**Who Can Apply?**

To apply for this recruitment, candidates must be permanent residents of the state of Bihar. As proof of residency, candidates are required to bring a Domicile Certificate issued by the Circle Officer (CO).
Candidates must possess experience in handling small, modern, and automatic weaponry.
Candidates must be retired personnel from the Army or the CAPF.

**Direct Recruitment: No Physical Test Required**

A major highlight of the SAP recruitment process is that it does not involve a physical fitness test; however, a medical examination is mandatory. Priority during the recruitment process will be accorded to candidates who possess specialized experience in fields such as disaster management, bomb detection and disposal, driving, swimming, diving, or motorboat operation.

**SAP Personnel Salaries**

According to the Bihar Police Headquarters, the total of 15,821 vacancies for SAP personnel comprises 148 positions for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), 15,135 positions for SAP constables, and 538 positions for cooks. The monthly honorarium for JCOs will be ₹35,000; for SAP constables, it will be ₹30,000; and for cooks, it will be ₹25,000. Additionally, these personnel will be entitled to allowances for uniforms, travel, and leave, on par with the allowances provided to regular serving personnel of the Bihar Police.

As per the recruitment notification, SAP personnel may also be deployed on deputation to other departments, such as the Transport, Excise, and Mining departments. Furthermore, they are liable to be transferred from one district to another. However, there will be no posting in the home district.
