Lucknow, 13 May. Prateek Yadav, younger son of Samajwadi Party (SP) patron late Mulayam Singh Yadav and brother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, died tragically in Lucknow on Wednesday morning. He was only 38 years old. According to information received from sources, at around 6 in the morning, he was taken to Lucknow Civil Hospital in a very critical condition, where doctors declared him dead after examination. At present, the clear reason for his sudden death has not been revealed.

According to family sources, on April 30 last month, Prateek Yadav’s health had deteriorated, after which he was admitted to a big hospital in Lucknow. After getting relief after 3 days of treatment, he returned to his home without formal leave (LAMA). His untimely demise has created a wave of mourning in the Yadav family and political circles.

Pratik had distanced himself from politics

Prateek Yadav was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s second wife Sadhna Gupta. While the entire Yadav clan is active in politics and holds big positions in the country and the state, Prateek always kept himself away from the glare of politics.

Prateek Yadav’s wife Aparna Yadav is a well-known politician of Uttar Pradesh. Aparna is currently a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission. Prateek and Aparna’s love story started in the year 2001 at a school friend’s birthday party, after which both of them had a long conversation through e-mail. After this, on December 4, 2011, both of them got married with great pomp in Mulayam Singh Yadav’s native village Saifai (Etawah). Apart from gym, Prateek Yadav was also fond of luxury vehicles and car racing. He loved speed and adventure. Prateek Yadav was seen many times with high-performance cars. On several occasions, he was seen testing his driving skills by riding in a high speed car on the track. Prateek also had a Lamborghini car, which was said to be worth around Rs 5 crore.
