PBKS who had a strong start to the IPL 2026 campaign find themselves in a lot of trouble, after losing 4 games in a row, from being sitting at the top of the table. After being unbeaten for the first 7 matches in the competition (6 wins, 1 no result) PBKS falter in the latter stages of the tournament to slip down to 4th in the table with 13 points from 11 matches.
Their streak of losses began in Mullanpur against Rajasthan Royals when they were unable to defend a massive target of 223. Following this, they lost to Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad with their batting collapsing for 163/9 which GT easily chased.
Punjab faced yet another loss when they clashed against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing 236 PBKS were unable to hold on to their nerve as the top order buckled and the team lost by 33 runs. The fourth loss was at the hands of Delhi Capitals in a nail-biting thriller.
Punjab scored 210 and looked in control of large periods of the match, however the batting of Axar Patel, David Miller, Ashutosh Sharma and Madhav Tiwari ensured DC secured a thrilling victory leaving Punjab with massive concerns about their bowling and fielding performances.

"There's a difference between criticism and calculated misinformation. Healthy debate around the game is welcome, but the deliberate spread of fake narratives to damage individuals, the team, or the brand should not and will not be taken lightly. Their bowling attack, dropped catches and fielding mistakes have really cost Punjab in recent times, and their team that looked like favorites to win the tournament before now face the pressure to perform before it is too late.
The team is up against Mumbai Indians next at Dharamshala and with MI already out of the race, another loss may prove to be detrimental to Punjab Kings' chances of finishing in the top four.
