Actor Himanshu Rai , who was last seen in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, is making his return to television with the family drama Tees Ke Paar Jab Mila Pyaar . In the show, he essays the role of Prakhar Sarpotdar. Sharing why he chose the show, Himanshu says, “Audiences today have countless options, and they only invest time in content they emotionally connect with,” he shares. “The story of this show is told from the heart, and the characters feel real. I instantly felt this is a story people will make their own.”
The actor believes the show’s biggest strength lies in the way it approaches relationships and age dynamics differently. “It’s not just a love story. It’s also about family values, responsibilities, and emotional conflicts,” he explains. “A sensible 32-year-old woman and an irresponsible 26-year-old man view life very differently, and that creates emotional twists and unexpected moments. It’s messy, it’s real, and that’s what will resonate with viewers.”
Talking about his own character, Himanshu says Prakhar represents the silent strength often seen in Indian families. “Prakhar is the hero’s elder brother and the responsible son of the family. The ‘ideal son’ is not just a role—it’s a mirror for millions of households,” he says thoughtfully. “When an actor plays such a character with quiet strength, folded hands, and eyes that choose family over self, he stops acting. He becomes the son every parent prays for.”
Reflecting on the changing television landscape and the short shelf-life of shows today, Himanshu feels authenticity is the only thing that keeps audiences invested. “If there’s no honesty in storytelling, the audience won’t stay,” he says. “We’re not here to preach. We’re simply telling the story of two opposites trying to meet each other halfway, and I hope viewers give us their love.”
