Amul Mother Dairy Milk Price Hike: In the country, Amul and Mother Dairy have increased the prices of milk by ₹ 2 per liter on Wednesday i.e. today. First, Amul had increased the price by Rs 2, after which just half an hour Mother Dairy also increased the price of milk by ₹ 2 per liter. These new rates will come into effect from Thursday i.e. 14 May 2026.

Amul and Mother Dairy have increased the prices of all main types and pack sizes of their milk. There has been an increase of ₹ 1 on half liter packet.

Why was the decision taken to increase milk prices?

According to Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, this decision has been taken due to the increasing cost of animal feed, packaging and fuel. Amul says that this increase is between 2.5% to 3.5%. This is the first time after May 2025 that milk prices have been increased.

Production and operating costs are continuously increasing

According to the cooperative, the production and operating costs associated with milk are continuously increasing. Due to rising cost of animal feed and increase in transportation expenses, it becomes necessary to revise milk prices from time to time. Over the past few years, the dairy industry has faced considerable pressure from rising input costs.

Prices were increased by ₹2 per liter in May 2025

Earlier, on May 1, 2025, the price of all variants of Amul milk in Gujarat and other states was increased by ₹2 per liter. Before that, prices of all variants were also increased on June 4, 2024; Even at that time this increase was ₹ 2 per liter.
