Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Review: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ is a film that relies more on its anarchy and absurd humor than logic. The tangled web of relationships, misunderstandings, overdramatic characters and ever-increasing chaos in the film take the audience to a different kind of comic world. This film sometimes seems very loud and exaggerated, but it also manages to keep the audience engaged with its energy and entertainment.

Director Mudassar Aziz has presented the comedy of errors in this film with small town atmosphere, strange situations and unique characters. Although the story feels scattered at many places, the film accepts its madness with complete confidence and this becomes its biggest feature.

A story full of complications and misunderstandings

The story of the film revolves around Prajapati Pandey, who lives in Prayagraj, who is an officer in the forest department. His life is going smoothly with his journalist wife Aparna, when his old classmate Chanchal suddenly returns into his life.

Chanchal gets entangled in her plan to elope with her lover Sunny and circumstances arise such that Prajapati has to pretend to be her lover. After this, a series of misunderstandings, rumors and relationship complications begin in the story.

The biggest strength of the film is its madness.

‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ is a film completely based on exaggeration. Here every character is overly dramatic and every incident is shown more exaggerated than usual.

In the film, leopard, wolf, fake relationships, rumors and absurd coincidences continuously make the story more chaotic. At times it all seems unbelievable, but the special thing about the film is that it does not try to take itself seriously.

Ayushmann Khurrana handled the entire film

Ayushmann Khurrana once again looks brilliant in the role of a simple but troubled young man from a small town. He also manages the weak script of the film with his acting.

Sometimes helpless and sometimes trapped in ridiculous situations, Ayushmann continuously entertains the audience as Prajapati. His comic timing and screen presence prove to be the strongest link of the film.

Supporting cast added entertainment

Vamika Gabbi has made an impact in the character of Aparna. Whereas the director has given Sara Ali Khan such a role in which her over-the-top style looks natural.

Rakul Preet Singh also looks impressive in her role, but Ayesha Raza attracts the most attention in the film. Her humor and dialogue delivery in the character of aunt makes many scenes very funny.

Apart from this, Vishal Vashishtha, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vijay Raj also give strong support to the film.

The shortcomings of the film are also clearly visible.

The biggest problem of the film is its excessively long and drawn out comedy. Many jokes seem repeated over and over and some scenes become overly dramatic.

Apart from this, the stereotypical portrayal of gay characters also feels uncomfortable at many places. Many times the story gets so disintegrated that the audience stops looking for logic.

Why can the film still be watched?

If you like light-hearted, mindless comedy films instead of serious films and crime thrillers, then you may like ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’.

The film succeeds in entertaining on the basis of its strange world, fast-paced comedy and the great chemistry of the actors. It’s not a perfect film, but despite all its messiness it tries honestly to make the audience laugh.
