Rahul reveals how he not only continued shooting with two broken ribs, but also completed a difficult climax scene.

Victim of an accident during training: two ribs were broken

Rahul Dev shared that he fell from a horse when he was taking horse riding training for the shooting of ‘The Empire’. Two of his ribs were broken in this accident. Explaining the seriousness of the rib injury, Rahul said that plaster cannot be applied on it, it is only supported with tape. He said, “Ribs are like dry twigs; if they break in the middle, reattaching them is extremely painful and risky.”

There was danger to life even due to sneezing and laughing

The actor said that with broken ribs, even normal physical activities can prove fatal. He said, “If you accidentally sneeze or laugh, those broken sharp bones can go through the lungs, which can even kill.” He told that despite the difficulty in breathing, he was mentally ready to return to the set.

Doctor advised 40 days, Rahul returned in just 10 days

Rahul Dev told that the doctor who treated him was very experienced, who had the record of treating legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Hrithik Roshan. The doctor had advised him complete rest for at least 40 to 42 days. But, director Nikhil Advani had a grand set installed and halting work could have resulted in huge losses. Understanding this responsibility, Rahul Dev reached the set on just the 10th day.

Competed solo with 28 fighters

Despite unbearable pain in ribs, Rahul Dev shot a tough action sequence for the climax of ‘The Empire’. He told that in that situation he alone shot the fight scene with 28 fighters. This dedication of Rahul is getting a lot of discussion on social media and fans are praising his passion.
