PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth Cruise Into Thailand Open Round of 16

P. V. Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth advanced comfortably to the second round of the Thailand Open 2026 in Bangkok on Wednesday.
Sixth seed Sindhu outclassed Chinese Taipei’s Tung Ciou-Tong 21-9, 21-12 in just 33 minutes, while former world No.1 Srikanth defeated Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 21-14, 21-15 in a rematch of the 2021 World Championships final. However, rising Indian star Ayush Shetty bowed out after losing to Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in three games.
Teenager Unnati Hooda impressed with a stunning comeback win over Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong, while Anmol Kharb narrowly lost to reigning champion Chen Yu Fei.
