BCCI has imposed a huge fine of Rs 12 lakh on Cummins. IPL has announced this penalty by releasing an official sheet. Action was taken as per Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

This is Sunrisers Hyderabad’s first mistake of slow over rate this season. So, if they commit such a mistake for the second time, they can be fined twice. Or a similar mistake could get Pat Cummins banned for a few matches. Cummins is not the only captain to suffer such an ordeal in IPL 2026.

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has faced action twice due to slow over rate. 12 lakh for the first offense and a bumper fine of Rs 24 lakh for the second offence. Along with the poor performance of Mumbai Indians, Hardik has been fined Rs 12 lakh due to slow over rate. Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane and Akshar Patel have also faced action.
