Udupi: The construction work of the Ambalapady flyover has been ongoing for one and a half years. Member of Parliament Kota Srinivas Poojary stated that the work has reached its final stage and one side of the flyover will be opened for vehicle traffic in the first week of June.
Speaking after visiting the site with officials on Wednesday, May 13, to inspect the progress, he mentioned receiving complaints regarding accidents caused by heavy vehicle density and traffic jams at Ambalapady. Once the flyover is opened for traffic, the congestion problem will be largely brought under control. Although efforts were being made to complete the first phase of the flyover work by the end of May, technical reasons mean the first phase will now be inaugurated in the first week of June, he said.
National Highways Department Engineer Naveen and local residents were present.
