Virat Kohli 9th IPL Century: Kohli’s ‘Virat’ century defeated Kolkata, RCB on top in the points table

Thanks to the strong century innings of Virat Kohli (105 not out), Royal Challengers Bangalore won by six wickets with five balls remaining over Kolkata Knight Riders in the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, which started late by 75 minutes due to rain on Wednesday. With this win, RCB has again reached the top of the points table. Chasing the target of 193 runs, the opening pair of Jacob Bethel and Virat Kohli added 37 runs for the first wicket for RCB. In the fourth over, Karthik Tyagi broke this partnership by dismissing Jacob Bethel (15).

After this, Devdutt Padikkal, who came to bat, took the second wicket with Virat Kohli and showed his team the path to victory by adding 92 runs. In the 14th over, Karthik dismissed Padikkal and sent him to the pavilion. Padikkal scored 39 runs in 27 balls hitting seven fours. In the 16th over, Sunil Narayan dismissed captain Rajat Patidar (11).

On the fifth ball of the 18th over, Karthik Tyagi took his third wicket by getting (two) caught out by Manish Pandey. Virat Kohli scored his ninth IPL century in the 19th over. He completed his century in 58 balls, hitting 10 fours and three sixes. This is his second century against KKR. During this, Kohli became the fastest player to score 14 thousand runs in 409 innings in T-20.

He broke Chris Gayle’s record of 423 innings. RCB scored 194 runs in 19.1 overs and won the match by six wickets. Virat Kohli played a match-winning inning of unbeaten 105 runs in 60 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes. Jitesh Sharma remained unbeaten after scoring eight runs. Earlier today, on the basis of brilliant innings of Angkrish Raghuvanshi (71), Rinku Singh (49 not out) and Cameron Green (32), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored 192 runs for four wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and decided to bowl first. Coming to bat, the pair of captain Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen added 23 runs for the first wicket for Kolkata Knight Riders. In the third over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave the first success to RCB by dismissing Finn Allen (18) in eight balls.

After this, in the fifth over, Josh Hazlewood sent Ajinkya Rahane (19) out to the pavilion by catching him on his own ball in 13 balls. After this, the pair of Cameron Green and Angkrish Raghuvanshi added 68 runs for the third wicket. In the 13th over, Rasikh Salam broke this partnership by dismissing Cameron Green. Cameron Green scored 32 runs in 24 balls, hitting three fours and a six.

Angkrishna Raghuvanshi was run out on the last ball of the innings. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 192 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi played an inning of 71 runs in 46 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. Rinku Singh scored unbeaten 49 runs in 29 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rasikh Salam and Josh Hazlewood took one wicket each for RCB.
