Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: There is great news for young aspirants preparing for a career in the railways. The South East Central Railway has announced recruitment for 1,191 apprentice positions. The most distinctive feature of this recruitment drive is that candidates will not be required to appear for any written examination. Selection will be based directly on the marks obtained in the 10th standard and ITI courses. Consequently, this is considered a golden opportunity for young individuals looking to secure a position in the railways within a short timeframe. The application process has already commenced, and candidates may submit their applications online until June 11, 2026.

**Who Can Apply?**
Only those candidates who have passed the 10th standard and have completed an ITI course from a recognized institution are eligible to apply for this recruitment. While applying, candidates are required to provide details regarding their 10th standard and ITI qualifications only. The Railways has explicitly stated that applications providing incorrect information are liable to be rejected. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and OBC categories are also required to upload their caste certificates.

**Number of Vacancies**
According to the Railways, candidates must be at least 15 years of age and not exceed 24 years of age. The age limit will be calculated as of June 11, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with the applicable rules. An age relaxation of 5 years will be granted to SC and ST candidates, 3 years to OBC candidates, and 10 years to PWD (Persons with Disabilities) and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

**Trades with the Highest Number of Vacancies**
In this recruitment drive, the highest number of vacancies is available in the COPA, Fitter, and Electrician trades. There are 350 vacancies in COPA, 223 in Fitter, and 206 in Electrician. Additionally, recruitment will also be conducted for various other trades such as Welder, Turner, Plumber, Carpenter, and Diesel Mechanic.

**Selection Process**
There will be no examination conducted for this recruitment. The merit list for candidates will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the 10th standard and ITI courses.
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the website apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. While filling out the form, candidates must upload a photograph, signature, Class 10th mark sheet, and ITI certificate.
The Railways has advised candidates to apply before the deadline.
