Apple may soon launch its first foldable iPhone. For quite some time, numerous reports regarding this device have been circulating online; however, new leaks now claim that the company might name this device the "iPhone Ultra." Until now, the public has referred to it as the "iPhone Fold," but according to the latest reports, Apple may introduce this premium foldable phone under the "iPhone Ultra" branding. It is speculated that this phone could launch in September 2026.

According to reports, this could be Apple's most expensive and most advanced iPhone to date. The iPhone Ultra may launch in two stunning colors, with options potentially including Silver White and Deep Indigo.

Reports suggest that Apple may launch several new iPhone models this year. These could include models such as the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Ultra, iPhone Air, iPhone 18, and iPhone 18e. However, it is believed that only the Pro models and the iPhone Ultra will launch in September, while the remaining models may arrive early next year. If this scenario unfolds, it would mark Apple's largest iPhone lineup to date.

According to reports, its global price could be approximately $2,000. If Apple launches the phone at this price point, its cost in India could exceed ₹200,000. Some reports even claim that the price could reach as high as ₹225,000.

A major reason for this high cost is that the phone will be manufactured exclusively in China. This means it will not undergo local manufacturing in India, which could further drive up its price.

According to leaks, Apple may adopt a "book-style" design for its foldable iPhone—meaning the device will open and close just like a book. Apple may utilize a "Liquid Metal Hinge" mechanism in this device, allowing for a more durable and smoother folding experience.

Reports suggest that the iPhone Ultra may feature a large 7.8-inch inner display, while the outer screen could measure 5.5 inches. Both screens are expected to utilize Samsung's M16 OLED technology. When folded, the phone's thickness could be approximately 9.23mm, potentially making it one of the thinnest foldable phones on the market.

No Face ID!
The most surprising revelation is that this phone may not feature Apple's popular Face ID capability. According to reports, the company might instead opt for a side-mounted Touch ID sensor—meaning the fingerprint scanner could be integrated into the power button.

Additionally, the iPhone Ultra is expected to feature a dual rear-camera setup. This could consist of a 48MP main camera paired with a 48MP ultrawide camera. The device may be powered by Apple's new A20 Pro chip, which will be based on 2nm process technology. The phone is also expected to offer 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

The iPhone Ultra could house a large battery with a capacity ranging from 5,400mAh to 5,800mAh. This would mark the largest battery ever included in an iPhone. Furthermore, reports suggest that Apple may eliminate the physical SIM tray, offering eSIM-only support. For AI capabilities, the device may also introduce a new Siri assistant alongside iOS 27.
