New Delhi: Once again the sensational incident of gang rape of a woman in a moving bus in the capital Delhi has raised serious questions on the security arrangements. Along with this, remembering the Nirbhaya incident that happened 14 years ago, people are expressing strong anger on social media regarding this incident. Let us tell you that in this case, Delhi Police took immediate action and arrested the driver and conductor of the bus. Besides, the sleeper bus in which the crime was committed has also been seized. Initial investigation has revealed that the bus is registered in Bihar and was running on the Delhi-Bihar route.
Case registered with police
According to the police, the number of the bus is BR 28P 3941 and it is operated by a company named Royal Travels and Cargo. The woman was allegedly gang-raped in this orange and black AC sleeper bus near Rani Bagh area. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code and started investigation. Officials say that efforts are being made to find out who else was present in the bus at the time of the incident. The permit and documents of the bus are also being checked.
During the investigation, the police came to know that there were curtains drawn inside the bus and the windows were completely closed, due to which no one outside could get an idea of the activities inside. The forensic team has also collected evidence from the bus.
when did the incident happen
The victim is a resident of Pitampura area and works in a factory located in Mangolpuri. She was returning home after finishing duty on Monday night. Meanwhile, when the young man present outside the bus parked near Saraswati Vihar asked the time, he was forcibly pulled into the bus. The victim alleges that two men raped her one by one and kept taking the bus to different areas for about two hours. Later he was thrown on the roadside near Nangloi metro station.
After the incident the victim informed the police. Medical examination has confirmed gang rape. Doctors had advised the woman to remain hospitalized, but due to the responsibilities of her family and small children, she decided to return home. Now the police is engaged in a thorough investigation of the case.
