Actor Jai is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘ Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai ’, directed by debutant Babu Vijay , who earlier worked as an assistant director under AR Murugadoss . The romantic comedy entertainer is set to release on May 15 and features Meenakshi Govindharajan as the female lead.
During the film’s recent promotional event in Chennai, Jai grabbed attention with his emotional speech about actor-turned-Chief Minister Vijay. Starting his speech with Vijay’s famous style line, “En nenjil kudiyirukkum…,” Jai said it had been his long-time wish to speak like that on stage one day. His speech instantly became viral among Vijay fans on social media.

In a recent interview with Behindwoods , Jai openly spoke about his deep admiration for Vijay and how much the star has influenced him over the years. Jai said, “I’m a hundred percent Vijay Anna fan,” and shared that he has watched Vijay’s films many times, just to observe his acting style and screen presence. Speaking about ‘Kuruvi’, Jai revealed, “I’ve watched Kuruvi at least 12 times.” He also explained that he never watches Vijay’s films only once because he enjoys noticing the actor’s body language, dialogue delivery, expressions, and small performance details. According to Jai, Vijay’s screen presence has always inspired him both as an actor and as a fan.

Jai also addressed the frequent comparisons between his acting mannerisms and Vijay’s style. He admitted that Vijay’s influence naturally reflects in him even when he consciously tries to avoid it during performances. “Somewhere, Vijay Anna’s body language naturally comes through in me,” Jai said during the interview. Interestingly, Jai plays a die-hard Vijay fan in ‘Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai’, making the role even more personal for him. At the event, Jai also praised director Babu Vijay for focusing more on the story rather than only highlighting the hero. He said the film has come out very well because the team gave importance to what the script demanded.
