Actor Arjun Rampal has reportedly seen a strong resurgence in his career following the success of the Dhurandhar franchise.
In the first instalment, he played a relatively limited yet important role, but his presence became far more prominent in the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where he took on a central antagonist part.
His portrayal of Major Iqbal stood out strongly in the narrative, with the character being widely associated with a dark and menacing screen presence.
At the same time, Rampal’s performance has been widely highlighted as one of the key highlights of the sequel, reinforcing his reputation as a seasoned performer capable of commanding intense roles.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the actor’s renewed momentum has now translated into fresh opportunities. He has reportedly been approached for a new role in filmmaker Anil Sharma’s upcoming project titled Arjun Naga, which is being described as another big-scale commercial entertainer.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Arjun Naga stars Utkarsh Sharma as the protagonist. The makers were looking for a powerful performer for the villain’s role. After considering a few names, they finally decided to approach Arjun Rampal.”

“Anil Sharma and his team have fleshed out a very mass-appealing role for Arjun. They are confident that it would be an exciting role in Arjun’s filmography, especially after the blockbuster Dhurandhar. Arjun is also quite impressed with how his character has been shaped and has come on board. Arjun has hiked his price after Dhurandhar. It's been said that he has been offered Rs. 6 crores for the coveted role,” added the source.
Anil Sharma’s next directorial venture after Vanvaas (2024) is reportedly titled Arjun Naga. The film will feature his son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead role.
This project also continues the father-son collaboration that has become a recurring creative partnership in recent years. Arjun Naga will mark their fifth film together after Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Genius, Gadar 2, and Vanvaas.
