New Delhi. An Indian-flagged commercial ship has been attacked off the coast of Oman, but all its crew members are safe, the External Affairs Ministry said on Thursday. It is not yet known who attacked the ship on Wednesday. The Foreign Ministry described the attack as ‘unacceptable’.
It said, “Yesterday’s attack on an Indian-flagged ship off the coast of Oman is unacceptable and we condemn the continued targeting of commercial vessels and ordinary seafarers.” The Ministry of External Affairs said, “All Indian crew members on board the ship are safe and we thank the Omani authorities for their rescue.”
The Ministry of External Affairs said India reiterates that it must refrain from targeting commercial vessels and endangering innocent crew members, or otherwise obstructing freedom of navigation and commerce.
