Administration sensitive on the loss of life due to storm and rain, families of the deceased immediately received assistance of Rs 4 lakh

The district administration has shown sensitivity and promptness by providing immediate relief to the families of the deceased in the tragic incidents that occurred during the strong storm and light rain in the district yesterday. On the instructions of District Magistrate Charchal Gaur, the process of sending unnecessary assistance amount of Rs 4 lakh each from the State Disaster Response Fund to the accounts of the families of the deceased was completed on a war footing.

The District Magistrate had directed the concerned Deputy District Magistrates that in cases of loss of life due to storm and rain, the Panchnama and post-mortem proceedings should be completed immediately on priority basis and the assistance amount should be made available immediately, so that the affected families do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. In the same sequence, Deputy District Magistrate Robertsganj went to the house of Mahendra, who died in an accident due to storm and rain, and met the family members and said that all the facilities permitted by the government will be provided.

As per the instructions, the post mortem proceedings were completed by the Deputy District Magistrate Obra showing special sensitivity in the case of the deceased Kamalavati wife of Ramnaresh Chero, resident of village Harra, Tehsil Obra. Since the deceased’s husband did not already have a bank account, the process of sending the assistance amount was completed by opening a bank account immediately.

Those who died due to storm and rain include Mahendra son of Kallu, age 33 years, resident of village Khadui, Pargana Vijaygarh, Tehsil Robertsganj, Ramvilas son of Ramjanam, age 55 years, resident of village Domaria, Vijaygarh, Tehsil Robertsganj and Kamalavati wife Ramnaresh Chero, age 40 years, resident of village Harra, Tehsil Obra.

On the instructions of the District Magistrate, the district administration is appreciating the speedy provision of relief assistance by the general public. As per the intention of the government, the entire action was carried out with sensitivity and humanitarian approach to provide immediate relief to the affected families.
