A new buzz is circulating on social media these days: the Aadhaar card is about to undergo significant changes. It's being claimed that the government plans to remove the name, address, and Aadhaar number from the Aadhaar card in the coming days, limiting it to just a photo and QR code. A government statement has now surfaced on this news.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology ( MeitY) stated
that the claim circulating on social media and digital platforms is completely false and fraudulent. In a press release issued on Sunday, the ministry clearly stated that no changes will be made to the Aadhaar card design.
The Ministry has also clarified that recent reports circulating on social media that the Aadhaar card design will be changed to a photo and QR code by the end of this year are completely false and baseless .
