Petrol Diesel CNG Price Hike India: Full state-wise fuel rates, Delhi CNG at Rs 79.09

New Delhi: Petrol, diesel and CNG prices have gone up in India, adding fresh pressure on commuters, households and transport-linked businesses. After the latest revision in petrol and diesel rates, Indraprastha Gas Ltd. on Friday raised CNG prices by Rs 2 per kg in Delhi, taking the price from Rs 77.09 per kg to Rs 79.09 per kg.

The CNG hike comes a day after a similar increase was announced in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The price revision comes amid pressure in global energy markets linked to the ongoing Iran conflict and the Strait of Hormuz crisis, which has already pushed up petrol and diesel prices across states.

Petrol price hike: Andhra Pradesh tops the list at Rs 113.03 per litre

Petrol prices have risen by around Rs 2.28 to Rs 3.39 per litre across states and Union Territories. Telangana saw one of the sharpest increases at Rs 3.39 per litre, taking petrol to Rs 110.89 per litre. Andhra Pradesh remains the costliest in the given list at Rs 113.03 per litre.

For daily commuters, this is not a tiny increase. A Rs 3 per litre hike on a 40-litre tank means around Rs 120 extra per refill. That hurts office-goers, cab drivers and small businesses that depend on road travel every day.

Diesel price hike: Andhra Pradesh crosses Rs 100 per litre

Diesel prices have also moved up sharply. This matters beyond private cars because diesel is linked to trucks, buses, farming machines and goods transport. When diesel rises, transport costs can slowly enter the prices of vegetables, milk, packaged goods and deliveries.

Delhi now has diesel at Rs 90.67 per litre after a Rs 3 hike. Mumbai is at Rs 93.14 per litre, while Chennai has reached Rs 95.25 per litre. Hyderabad is close to the Rs 100 mark at Rs 98.96 per litre, and Thiruvananthapuram is at Rs 99.35 per litre.

CNG price hike: Delhi and Mumbai rate rises by Rs 2 per kg

CNG users have now taken a hit too. Indraprastha Gas Ltd., which supplies gas to Delhi-NCR and adjoining markets, has raised CNG prices by Rs 2 per kg in Delhi.

The new CNG price in Delhi is Rs 79.09 per kg, up from Rs 77.09 per kg. The hike comes after a similar rise in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

For auto-rickshaw drivers, cab operators and regular CNG car users, this adds another layer to the fuel bill. It may look smaller than petrol and diesel hikes at first glance, but for high-use vehicles, even Rs 2 per kg can pinch over a week.

Why fuel prices have gone up

India had held back from raising petrol and diesel prices even after global crude oil prices jumped due to the Iran-US conflict and the Strait of Hormuz crisis. The latest revision came as oil marketing companies faced mounting under-recoveries.

Now, the fuel basket has become costlier across petrol, diesel and CNG. Petrol has crossed Rs 110 per litre in some states, diesel has crossed Rs 100 per litre in Andhra Pradesh, and CNG in Delhi is now Rs 79.09 per kg.
