Some people are born with an innate talent that sets them apart from an early age. They might excel in dance, music, sports, academics, or any other field, shining effortlessly in what they do. When this natural talent is nurtured, it paves the way for extraordinary success, inspiring those around them. Such is the story of 7-year-old girl Barkat Arora, who has been making waves across the internet with her exceptional dancing skills. With over 3.9 million followers on Instagram, she even left actress Rashmika Mandanna impressed with her talent.

From viral sensation to rising prodigy

In a video posted by The Better India on Instagram, Barkat Arora was seen shaking a leg to the popular song Saami Saami from the film Pushpa: The Rise, led by Allu Arjun. Her confident on-stage performance caught Rashmika Mandanna by sweet surprise, especially because the actress was the one who originally delivered a nuanced performance to the peppy dance number. Rashmika not only smiled throughout the performance but also went on the stage to give Barkat a warm hug, visibly impressed by the youngster.

As per The Better India, Barkat Arora was born with a passion for dance. Even before she could properly walk, the Delhi-based girl had already started grooving to the tunes of music, reported The Better India. At just 2 years old, she performed for an audience of 500 people, a moment that made her family realise that dance had chosen her. Although Barkat’s parents enrolled her in gymnastics, Bharatnatyam, and tennis, she always chose dance.

Breaking stereotypes through rhythm and determination

As Barkat Arora's dance reels reached millions online, people showered love on her, but criticism also followed. Naysayers pointed out that dance would ruin her career and she should focus on academics instead, with questions being raised on parenting as well. But according to Barkat’s mother, Babita Sheokand, a gynaecologist, ‘dancing does not cancel childhood, expression does not cancel innocence, confidence does not cancel character.’

Barkat Arora's mother revealed that her daughter practices dance seriously and studies hard simultaneously, as per the People of India. She is also a gold medalist in gymnastics and the youngest Ted-ex speaker. But dance is what makes Barkat’s heart happy, and now she is being compared to legendary actress Madhuri Dixit, who is also known for her remarkable dancing talent. Although Barkat wishes to become a scientist in future, her mother has revealed that her daughter has complete freedom to explore whatever she wants to.
