Mumbai. The popularity of the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to grow and its viewership on digital platforms has increased by seven per cent, while viewership on TV is close to touching the 500 million mark.
According to Jiostar, the official broadcaster of this tournament, the total digital reach of IPL has increased by 15 percent. This figure is of 51 matches broadcast on linear TV and 57 matches broadcast on digital platforms.
The company claimed, “The reach of CTV (connected TV i.e. Internet connected devices) has increased by 25 percent and ‘watch time’ (watching time) has increased by 20 percent. There has been a 42 percent increase in ‘watch time’ in regional languages. The broadcaster claimed that this increase has been due to the addition of 125 new advertisers compared to the previous season.
