NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam on June 21: NTA Announces New Date, हेल्पलाइन जारी for Students and Parents

National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the new date for the re-examination of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG 2026. The entrance exam for medical courses will now be conducted on June 21, 2026, following the cancellation of the earlier examination over alleged paper leak concerns.

The original NEET UG exam was held on May 3, 2026, with more than 22 lakh students appearing across the country. However, after allegations of paper leaks and irregularities surfaced, the examination was cancelled and the मामला was handed over for investigation.

Government Approves Re-Examination

According to the latest notification issued by National Testing Agency, the re-exam will be conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after approval from the Government of India.

The announcement has become a major development for lakhs of students preparing for admission into undergraduate medical courses across India.

High-Level Meeting Held at Education Minister’s Residence

Before the announcement, a high-level review meeting was reportedly held at the residence of Dharmendra Pradhan.

The meeting included senior officials such as:

  • Vineet Joshi
  • Sanjay Kumar
  • Abhishek Singh
  • Officials from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
  • Representatives from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)
  • Representatives from Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS)

The discussions reportedly focused on ensuring transparent and secure conduct of the fresh examination.

More Than 23 Lakh Students Appeared Earlier

The cancelled May 3 examination had witnessed participation from nearly 23 lakh candidates, making it one of the largest entrance exams in India.

Following allegations of irregularities and paper leaks, the matter was reportedly transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for investigation. Several arrests have also reportedly been made in connection with the case.

NTA Advises Students to Trust Only Official Sources

The National Testing Agency has appealed to students and parents not to rely on rumours circulating on social media platforms or messaging apps.

Candidates have been advised to follow only official communication channels for exam-related updates, admit cards, city intimation slips, and guidelines.

Security Measures Expected to Be Stronger This Time

Students Advised to Continue Preparation

Education experts are advising students not to panic and to continue preparing seriously for the re-exam.

Since the examination date has now been officially announced, candidates are expected to receive updated admit cards and examination instructions closer to the exam date through the official National Testing Agency portal.
