Himachal: CM Sukhu claims, all promises fulfilled in 3.5 years, also targets opposition

There is a big news for the people of Himachal Pradesh. State Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has claimed that his government has fulfilled all the election promises and guarantees made to the people in its tenure of just three and a half years. In fact, these days Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is fully active in campaigning for the four municipal elections to be held in the state. Amidst this election excitement, the Chief Minister has made this big claim while targeting the opposition. He stressed that the present state government has fulfilled all its promises and election guarantees made to the public in such a short period of time.

In fact, the Chief Minister presented a detailed report card of the achievements of his tenure. He detailed the historic work done for various sections of the society including employees, women, farmers, youth and poor families.

Claim: The biggest guarantee was fulfilled in the very first cabinet meeting.

CM Sukhu informed that the government fulfilled the biggest guarantee in its very first cabinet meeting. Under this, the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) was restored for 1.36 lakh employees. The direct and positive impact of this decision was that the retired employees who were earlier getting only Rs 2-3 thousand under NPS, are now getting a respectable pension of Rs 20 to 40 thousand, which has brought a big change in their lives.

Women are being given a pension of Rs 1500

Realizing its second major guarantee for the dignity of women, the government has implemented ‘Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi Yojana’. In the first phase of this scheme, an amount of Rs 29.12 crore has been released to 35,687 women. At the same time, in the second phase, women from one lakh very poor families are being given a pension of Rs 1500 every month, which is providing them financial support.

Took many important steps in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry

To strengthen the rural economy, the government has taken many important steps in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry. Milk prices have been increased for farmers and cattle herders. The support price of cow milk has been increased from Rs 32 to Rs 61 per liter and that of buffalo milk from Rs 47 to Rs 71 per liter. Apart from this, organic fertilizer (vermi compost) is being purchased from cattle farmers at the rate of Rs 300 per quintal. With the aim of promoting natural farming, the support price of wheat, maize and barley grown has also been increased significantly. Himachal Pradesh has also set a new example in the field of horticulture. Himachal has become the first state in the country to implement horticulture policy. Implementation of the Universal Carton System and increase in the support price of fruits by 25% has led to a significant increase in the income of gardeners.

The government has also taken several initiatives to provide employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth. Along with the figures, the Chief Minister said that in the last three years, 23,200 youth have been given government jobs, which includes 9535 teachers’ posts. At the same time, 51,400 youth have got employment in the private sector also. ‘Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme’ worth Rs 680 crore has been started to connect the youth with self-employment. Under this scheme, 50% subsidy is being given on the purchase of e-taxi and huge interest subsidy is being given for installing solar panels on private land, so that the youth can become self-reliant.

The government has also made significant improvements in basic amenities like education, health and free electricity. In the field of education, English medium teaching has been started from class 1 in all government schools. ‘Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools’ have been approved in 42 assembly constituencies of the state, out of which the construction work of 10 is in progress. To improve health services, modern machines like robotic surgery, PET Scan and 3 Tesla MRI have been installed in the state for the first time so that patients can get accessible and world-class treatment in the state. A historic decision has also been taken to provide 300 units of free electricity every month to 1 lakh extremely poor families under the ‘Apna Parivar-Sukhi Parivar’ scheme.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu finally said that the Congress government has gone beyond its guarantees and made policies for the welfare of the neglected sections of the society and strengthening the rural economy. He expressed confidence that these policies are now showing their positive impact on the ground, which is bringing prosperity in the lives of the common people.
