Prices of many things have increased in the last 15 days. Apart from petrol and diesel, the price of CNG increased by Rs 2 per kg in Delhi and Mumbai. Commercial cylinder has become costlier by Rs 994 and 5 kg cylinder has become costlier by Rs 261. Milk of Amul and Mother Dairy has become costlier by Rs 2 per liter.
petrol and diesel The increase in prices has a direct impact on the common man's pocket and kitchen. Due to diesel becoming expensive, the prices of other goods will increase. Due to diesel becoming expensive, freight charges will increase. Truck and tempo fares will increase, due to which vegetables, fruits and ration coming from other states will become expensive.
Burden of inflation on common man
The cost of farming will increase. Farmers will have to spend more to run tractors and pumping sets, which will increase the cost of grains. Bus and auto fares will also increase. There may also be an increase in fares for public transport and school buses.
People of different cities of the country are unhappy with this increase. People of the country's financial capital Mumbai are unhappy with the increase in prices and are saying that running a household will become more difficult due to this inflation. Common people say that this will greatly affect the poor and middle class. Everything is becoming expensive. The government should think about this.
The prices of petrol, diesel as well as CNG have increased in the country. Common people say that this will have a huge impact on their pockets. People filling petrol and diesel in Jaipur said that our budget has gone wrong. Taxi drivers said that Ola-Uber did not increase the fare. There will be loss due to increase in diesel petrol rates. At the petrol pump located at Atal Chowk in Hazratganj, Lucknow, people told that there is a crisis in the whole world. In such a situation, three rupees do not make any difference. Diesel became Rs 90.81 per litre.
Effect of petrol and diesel on kitchen
The prices of petrol and diesel in the country had remained stable for a long time. Just before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the government had given relief to the public by reducing the prices by Rs 2 per liter. Prices had not increased since then, but on Friday petrol and diesel became costlier by three rupees. Experts claim that looking at the situation in the international market, it seems that it will become more expensive. The question is, what is the situation due to which oil prices have increased?
The biggest and only reason behind the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel is the US-Iran tension, due to which there is fluctuation in the prices of crude oil in the international market. India imports 90% of its crude oil needs, out of which 50% of the crude oil comes from the Strait of Hormuz, where there is a problem in the passage of oil tanker ships and the reason for this is the US-Iran war.
West Asia crisis and crude oil game
Before the war between Iran and America started, the price of crude oil was 70 dollars, which has now increased to beyond 100 dollars per barrel. Due to increase in crude oil prices, oil companies were buying oil at a higher price, due to which they were incurring losses. Therefore, companies increased oil prices to compensate for the losses. If the prices of crude oil continue to rise like this in the international market, then the prices of petrol and diesel may increase further.
Even though there are international equations behind the price of oil, the opposition in India is attacking the government and sharp questions are being asked. Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media that it is Modi government's mistake, the public will pay the price. The shock of Rs 3 has arrived, the remaining recovery will be done in installments, while Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav posted a cartoon on social media and said that if we want to move ahead then bicycle is the only option. He described inflation as a big shock.
Will oil prices increase further?
BJP is arguing that due to the war, global oil prices have increased. Due to this, the prices of petrol and diesel increased by 15% to 20% in neighboring countries like Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, but people in India were not burdened, but it is also true that in Australia and Germany, excise duty was reduced by 50%, due to which the prices of petrol and diesel came down by Rs 17 per liter.
However, it is also true that while giving relief to the public, the Government of India had reduced the special excise duty by Rs 10 each to keep the prices of petrol and diesel stable. The duty on petrol was reduced from Rs 13 per liter to Rs 3, while on diesel it was reduced from Rs 10 to zero. This provided relief for a few days, but ultimately the price had to be increased.
