In the film, Aamir Khan played the role of ACP Ajay Singh Rathore, who starts fighting crime and terror by joining the police service after a terrorist attack on his family. Along with him, Sonali Bendre played the lead role, who strengthened the emotional balance and romantic side in the film. Whereas Naseeruddin Shah gave more depth to the story by playing a mysterious and complex character. The performances of these three actors gave a strong foundation to the film.
