Massive fire in Noida-Greater Noida, plumes of smoke rising from Shahberi and Sector-2

New Delhi: On Friday (15 May 2026), two major fire incidents created panic in Noida and Greater Noida. Suddenly a fire broke out in Shahebari Furniture Market and a factory in Sector-2. Black smoke rising along with the flames covered the sky and spread chaos in the surrounding areas.

Stampede in Shahebari Furniture Market   

According to media reports, the fire in the furniture market of Shahebari area of ​​Greater Noida spread so fast that many shops were affected within a few minutes. People ran out of the shops to save their lives. A plume of smoke was visible far away. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. According to initial information, goods worth lakhs were burnt to ashes. The reason for the fire is not clear yet. This entire area comes under Bisrakh police station area.

Fire also broke out in the factory of Sector-2  

The second incident is from Sector-2 of Noida. The goods kept in the tin shed on the third floor of the factory located at C-35 in Police Station Phase-1 area caught fire. Within no time, black smoke spread into the sky. Panic spread among the people. As a precaution, the entire building was immediately evacuated.

Fire team brought it under control  

It is noteworthy that as soon as the fire department received the news, the team arrived with two fire tenders. After a lot of effort the fire was completely controlled. It is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life in both the incidents. Police and fire departments are now investigating how the fire started.

There is suspicion of short circuit, but the truth will come out only after investigation. These incidents on Friday have once again raised questions on fire safety in markets and factories. There is an atmosphere of fear among the people due to such incidents happening continuously.
