New Delhi: To correct the voter list in Delhi, a special intensive revision (SIR) campaign is going to be started. From June 30 to July 29, booth level officers will conduct door-to-door surveys. The objective is clear: no eligible citizen should be left out from voting and there should not be a single mistake in the list.

1.48 crore voters will be verified

According to the Election Commission, there are currently 1,48,23,234 registered voters in Delhi. 13,026 BLOs are being deployed to verify the names and addresses of all these people. To keep the entire process transparent, 28,881 booth level agents of political parties will also be present. These agents will help in the survey and will also keep monitoring so that no irregularities occur.

Draft list will come on 5th August

After completion of the door-to-door survey, the draft voter list will be released on August 5, 2026. If you find any mistake in your name, address or any information, or the name of a new voter is missing, you can lodge a claim and objection from August 5 to September 4, 2026. This work will be done by filling the form with the BLO or on the online portal.

Cut-off date is 1 October 2026

This time the Election Commission has kept the qualifying date as 1 October 2026. That means the youth who will turn 18 by October 1, 2026 can also get their names added to the list. After settling all the objections, the final voter list of Delhi will be published on 7 October 2026.

Why is this campaign important?

In a city like Delhi, people often change houses, new people move in and youth keep turning 18 years old. In such a situation, it is important to keep the list updated. BLO will come to your home and check the documents, so keep Aadhaar, proof of residence and proof of age ready. This time the Commission insists that not a single eligible voter should be left out.
